Happiness is a Choice

I know that people think that things and/or people will make them happy, but those things and/or people are temporary. To truly to be happy you need to find it on the inside. You have to make a choice to want to be happy no matter what else is going on around you. And when you finally get that you can be happy without the things or people, the things and people you want in your life will manifest. I know it sounds weird or even backward, but I’m telling you the truth!

   Let me explain how I start my day. This is my process and you can do whatever feels good to you. So I start the minute I wake up to think about how wonderful my bed feels. I lay there for a few minutes and think about the day ahead of me. I think of all the fun people I will encounter and about all the beautiful things there will be to see along the way to wherever it is I will be going. Then I get up and have a cup of coffee. After I am fully awake and I have taken care of everything like using the bathroom and washing my face, I will sit in my recliner and plug in my ear buds and start the meditation pod cast. I relax into the chair and let myself float away into the stream of wellness that is always there for all of us. When I come out of my relaxed state I am ready for a wonderful day. No matter where I am going or who I am with I know I will have a really great day. As I drive down the road I take notice of all the beauty that is around me, like the trees and the flowers and all the lovely people out walking their dogs. Anything that makes me smile and makes my heart sing is what I focus on. As I interact with others I look for the goodness within them. I expect to have great conversations and fun when I meet new people or even old friends. I have learned through practice and experience to give up any kind of struggle or angst. I look for any reason to feel good. I keep myself in a good mood by any means possible and I don’t worry about what anybody thinks about me. If I feel like dancing in the middle of the street, I will. In fact, I know now that it is none of my business what anybody else thinks about me. There are just too many people wanting too many different things from me, so I just do what feels good and right for myself. By trying to please everyone you end up pleasing no one, especially yourself. I know it is up to me to make myself happy. And by paying attention to my mood I attract others that are fun and frisky too.

   I’ve also stopped chasing what I want and instead I am letting it come to me by following the clues and prompts and guidance of my inner being, which is the spiritual side of me. And again the way to do this is by paying attention to how you feel. If it feels good do it, remember that saying? Well it’s true. My motto is, if it’s not a hell yes then it’s a hell no, or let’s give this idea a little more time to gestate and see what develops. But don’t force anything to happen, let it unfold naturally.  

   We can all be, do, or have anything we desire, but we have to believe it first. As Abraham Hicks always says, “It’s as easy to create a castle as it is to create a button”. It’s all the same process. I know it seems simple but that’s how it works. Keeping yourself in a high vibration is the only way to get to all the things you want, and then believing that you can create your world just the way you want it to be. Of course you may not get what you want in the fashion you imagined it to come, but it will come through the path of least resistance. What I mean is; you have to relax into it and it will reveal itself to you.

   For example, I used to say, when I have my mansion I want people to live there and co-exist in harmony. Well I don’t have the mansion YET, but I did buy a house and I rent the rooms out to lovely people that all live in harmony. That’s just one example of something I wanted and how it came to me. But if I wasn’t paying attention I would have missed that evidence. The Universe is always giving you what you focus on, so why not focus on the good things you want. But if you are focused on something you want and you start asking questions like where is it, how am I going to get it or who will bring it, you will slow the whole process down. You may even feel stuck. You have to just stay happy and think about how fun it will be when you get whatever it is you want and how it will feel when it comes. I know this sounds weird but you have to feel the way you will feel when it gets here. Believe me, if you don’t put any doubt in your way, it will manifest.

   And please don’t forget to thank the Universe or God or whomever you believe in for all the good things you have now. I like to go around my house and be thankful for everything in it. The more you appreciate what you have the more the Universe will bring things like it for you to appreciate. Like I said it is simple but it takes practice. But it’s worth it all the practice you can give it.

   Life is supposed to be fun and you are the only one who can make that happen. You truly are the master of your own domain, and you have every right to feel the way you want to feel. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. There is no other way to say it. And when you meditate you will feel that light floaty feeling, even if it’s just for a moment or two. That will be the time your resistance will be lifted and you will know how magical you really are. You will feel the way it feels to be totally free of struggle or fear or hatred. You will feel so good that nothing can bother you. And it just keeps getting better.

   So now you know that it is up to you to find what makes you happy. Your life will change in so many ways that you will wonder why you never thought of it before. There is no going back now. You know too much. Be easy about it and let life come to you. Follow the clues and life will feel magical to you. And most of all love yourself like you love your own children. You are a worthy being and you deserve to be happy no matter what!
