Be Your Own Hero

This is an attraction based Universe, and the way we attract is by how we feel. When you keep yourself in a joyful mood you attract wonderful things.

     I’m sure this blog title sounds a little weird to most people. But for me it makes perfect sense. If you think about it, you do nice things for yourself everyday. You take a shower, you brush your teeth, you feed yourself, and some of you even exercise. But you might not even think of those things as hero acts. Just think about what you would be like if you didn’t do any of those things. YUCK! So, you see what I mean?

     One way I am my own hero is to keep myself as happy as I can every day. I have been studying how to do this for some time now, and I feel I’m finally really getting it. I’m now realizing how important it is to feel my way through life. This is an attraction based Universe, and the way we attract is by how we feel. When you keep yourself in a joyful mood you attract wonderful things. And the better you get at this, the better everything gets. It all has to do with where we put our focus. Remember, where focus goes, energy flows. And again, energy can’t be created or destroyed, it just changes form, and that includes you. Okay, now that we’ve established that it is important to keep ourselves in good moods, how do we do it? Well, It takes practice and putting positive attention on what you desire. When you pay attention to how you feel, you will know for certain if you are being your authentic self, or if you are reacting to something someone else did or said. It is impossible to control how others act or feel. So it is important to ignore the naysayers and follow your own bliss. What I mean is, you have to give yourself permission to be happy and don’t listen to anyone who puts you down. They don’t count. Only what you think and feel matters. You know, you can talk nicely to yourself, and that is a very good thing to do. Treat yourself like your own best friend. And give it time to work. You won’t change your mindset overnight. But the more you practice the better it will feel. And when that happens you change the whole dynamic of your reality. You truly can be, do or have anything you desire in this lifetime. As long as you believe it you will keep seeing results and then you know that you are on your right path. 

     Now it’s true that we don’t all want the same things out of life. Wouldn’t that be crazy if we all wanted the same things and we had to fight each other to get it? I can’t even imagine that. But luckily we are all so different that this Universe is able to help each of us get what we want. But you have to know what it is you truly want and then trust that the Universe will guide you to the right place at the right time and to talk to the right people. And when you get to that place you will understand how powerful you are and that life is supposed to be good. 

     You know that there are no spare parts in the Universe. You were brought here for a purpose. And even if that purpose is to be the ice cream man, who brings joy to all who purchase one of your many delicious flavors of ice cream, then so be it. Whatever your purpose is can only be known by you. And if it feels good then that’s all you need to know. 

     I know this sounds too easy, but it truly is easy when you give yourself permission to follow your bliss. Some people want to be rich and travel the world. Some just want to be comfortable, and believe it or not, some choose to be homeless and free from society’s rules. We all have choices to make, but only you will know what feels right. And when making choices I suggest, like Abraham Hicks says, if it’s not a hell yes, then it’s a hell no. It may turn into a hell yes later when you have fully investigated whatever it is. But don’t rush, take the time to fully align to an idea or situation before taking the leap. What I mean by aligning is to really feel what it will feel like, and see if it’s a good fit , and if it is then go for it. If not then put it on the back burner and let it simmer until it makes sense one way or the other. 

     Another way to be your own hero is to take care of the things that will help you feel good physically. Let’s say your feet have been hurting and it would really be a good idea to buy some new shoes. But the shoes you need are expensive so you keep putting them off. But you’ll spend money on things like a casino trip or splurge on some other silly thing. That is not the way to be nice to yourself. You need to buy the shoes so that you will feel good and this will help you be able to think better and do better in all aspects of your life. There are so many ways to be nicer to yourself. Only you know what those things are. Meditation is another way to be nicer to yourself. By taking the time to relax your mind and letting new ideas flow through you, you can figure out what it is that will truly make you happy. Try doing less so that you are free from stress. When you are trying too hard to make things happen you inadvertently keep yourself stuck, so to speak. But when you rest you let the good ideas in and life gets better and better. 

     So what have we learned here? I hope you got the meaning of being your own hero. You just have to be nicer to yourself. And let yourself be, do or have whatever it is you desire. And just for good measure, please keep taking showers and brushing your teeth. That will always be a good thing. And remember there is always tremendous love for you here.

I am just an average woman who has been through my share of ups and downs. I found myself falling into a very deep depression and needed to do something drastic to pull myself out of it. I started by looking up quotes, mantras, blogs, and inspirational books. As soon as I started filling myself up with all this positive input I could see that my life was miraculously changing for the better. I began to take notes on all the steps I was taking. Others wanted to know how did I change. That is where my "Choose a Powerfully Positive Life" book began. Now I am speaking at seminars, doing comedy, and sharing and helping others find their true selves. I love me, my life, and all humans.
